Binance Resumes Mastercard Purchases for Crypto Transactions

Good news for crypto buyers! Mastercard users can now once again purchase cryptocurrencies on Binance, the world’s largest exchange. This comes after Mastercard had disabled the option in August 2023.

The previous suspension coincided with legal troubles for Binance in the US. The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) had filed charges against the exchange.

According to a Binance spokesperson, “Mastercard has reviewed the strengthened controls we’ve implemented and decided to re-allow Mastercard purchases on their network. We’re hopeful to offer additional features like withdrawals in the future.”

Mastercard confirmed the restart but emphasized ongoing monitoring. “We reviewed Binance’s improvements and based on that, we’re allowing purchases again. However, this is subject to continued evaluation,”.

This development highlights a growing interest in crypto from payment giants like Mastercard and Visa.
